Donald Ray Bernard's experience in law includes a Juris Doctor attained at the University of Texas at Austin in 1958. Mr.Bernard took on responsibilities as Briefing Attorney with the Texas Supreme Court from 1958 to 1959, next serving as Assistant Attorney General with the State of Texas. In 1960, he joined the Houston lawful practice Bernard & Bernard as Partner, a position he maintained for 20 years. Don Bernard kept concurrent responsibilities in the U.S. Armed Forces, initially becoming Navy-commissioned ensign in 1954. He rose through the naval levels to a position as Commander in the Submarine Service prior to his military retirement in 1975.
